In a recent study in the British Journal of Psychiatry, people with at least moderate depression were given a placebo, an active antidepressant or just support. Those who received an anti-depressant or placebo did better than those who just received support but the difference between the benefits of the placebo and anti-depressant were minimal. So the question is, are placebos just as good as anti-depressants?
