Could cultural burning reduce the risk of unmanageable bush fires from occurring in the future

This April Adelaide is set to be the first city in Australia to have traditional/cultural burns inside its city limits.

The recent fires that scorched a third of the land area, have raised calls to learn from Australia’s forefathers about this country’s relationship with fire.

The wire’s Nyambe Mweendo spoke with Ngarrindjeri Kaurna Yankunytjatjara Representative Alan Sumner to gain an insight on cultural burning and what it means to the indigenous community.
