ABC’s delayed tribute sparks vigil for journalist killed in Gaza

Pro-Palestinian supporters and journalists gathered in front of ABC studios in Southbank Melbourne, on the 31st of October, to hold a silent sit-in vigil in honour Palestinian journalist Roshdi Sarraj and other journalists who lost their lives during Israel’s bombing of Gaza.

The group were critical of the ABC’s lack of coverage on the issue and called for increased protection for journalists reporting from Gaza.

In the ongoing Israel and Gaza conflict, 30 journalists have tragically lost their lives, comprising of 25 Palestinians, four Israelis, and one Lebanese journalist, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
