More than 200 arrests have now been made in the Federal police crackdown on Internet Child porn. Dr David Wood is chairman of the Abused Child Trust in Queensland. He says he’s not surprised at the number of arrests but he does believe the internet makes “grooming” of victims easier for paedophiles. Meanwhile Veronica Ilias from the union representing childcare workers says the profession has the potential to be damaged by the fact that at least one arrest was of a childcare centre manager. She says that state governments need to close loopholes in the system which checks out anyone working with children.
