A controversial protest is set to take place outside the state memorial service planned for the late media mogul, Kerry Packer. Sydney-based activist group “Eat the Rich” say taxpayers shouldn’t be lumbered with a bill for the service, given the man was worth over $7 billion. They also claim that the service glorifies Packer’s contribution to Australia while evading more controversial issues surrounding his business activities like tax evasion and the concentration of media ownership.
