Scientists are looking at a certain type of oyster, as a possible way to reduce pollution in our waterways, like the Great Barrier Reef.

Nutrient rich wastewater is high in nitrogen and phosphorus, and known to degrade marine environments. Researchers from James Cook University found Blacklip Rock Oysters’ could be an effective method for biological filtration.
