Sri Lankans have gone to the polls in the past twenty four hours with political issues being overwhelmed by the need to rebuild a country shattered by the Boxing Day tsunami. Oxfam Australian director Andrew Hewett says many aid agencies have tried to spend money too quickly whereas Oxfam’s long term commitment to the country means they have been able to work with the people and achieve better long term results.
