Today the Australian Institute Health and Welfare released its latest National Drug Strategy Household Survey . It showed smoking and drinking trending down, particularly among young people, less use of pharmaceutical opioids but more people turning to high end drugs like cocaine and ice.
Experts agree the news was generally encouraging but say the picture it paints of Australians habits in 2019 is unlikely to tell much about what’s ahead in a world completely changed by Covid 19.
