A major study by Sydney University has found that organic food does not have greater nutritional value than conventionally grown fare. The study conducted by the School of Molecular Bioscience claims that while health professionals often advise the public to eat organic, this does not necessarily have scientific support. Such claims have sparked a major food debate, dividing scientists as to the real benefits of food that is free of herbicides and pesticides. The organic food industry has responded angrily to the report saying its evidence is flawed and ignores the clear benefits of naturally grown produce.
