While many of us enjoyed the long weekend for the Queens Birthday, seven Indigenous Australians had cause for celebration as recipients of the Order of Australia Awards. The awards were established in 1975, by the Queen, as an “Australian society of honour for the purpose of according recognition to Australian citizens and other persons for achievement or for meritorious service”. Seleneah More spoke with several Indigenous recipients.
