The Occupy Sydney at Martin Place was raided without warning at 5am on Sunday morning and forcibly evicted. But the movement does not appear to be going away.

Occupy protests have sprung up in cities in South Africa, India, Mongolia, Canada, India and throughout Europe. In Sydney alone, hundreds of new connections been made.People with long years of experience as activists in many varied campaigns, and others who have just experienced their first protest AND first encounter with police are engaging, debating and discussing ideas with each other.Only 12 hours after the eviction, the General Assembly of Occupy Sydney convened in a park in central Sydney, buzzing with ideas and enthusiasm to keep the movement going.
