We tend to trust the major painkiller brands, but should we? The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is taking court action against Reckitt Benckiser, the makers of Nurofen, for misleading consumers. The ACCC says Nurofen products that are marketed for targeting specific pain, like headaches or back pain, are actually the same as their standard product. Along with causing people to pay around twice as much for the same product, this marketing may pose increased health risks for users.
