The Federal Court has ruled that the Commonwealth cannot use its emergency powers in its compulsory acquisition of a parcel of land in northern South Australia to build a Nuclear Waste Dump. South Australian Minister for the Environment, John Hill, says the the decision is a major set back for the government which is threatening to appeal to the High Court. Nina Brown, spokesperson for local Aboriginal Women, says their campaign has been strenghtened by the decision.
