The Government announced today that Muckaty Station in the Northern Territory will still be considered as a dumping site for radioactive waste. Muckaty Station, near Tennant Creek, was nominated in 2007 as a dumping ground by the Northern Land Council on behalf of some traditional owners of the Ngapa clan. Since that time, many have disputed it’s nomination, including then Shadow Environment Minister- Peter Garrett.
