The NSW Police Force and Tafe NSW have today launched a program to help increase the number of Aboriginal police officers in that state. Titled Indigenous Police Recruitment Our Way Delivery (or IPROWD) the program is expected to train 180 Aboriginal people across the state. The program has previously run in Dubbo, with 6 students graduating to probationary officers. But while the launch highlighted the benefits of the program, the road to greater Indigenous involvement in law enforcement may not be a smooth one.
