New South Wales may soon join the Nothern Territory in naming and shaming juvenile offenders, following an announcement from NSW Attorney General John Hatzistergos that a parliamentary committee will review the prohibition of identifying children involved in criminal proceedings. Under current legislation, individuals under the age of 18 enjoy annonymity except in serious cases such as rape or murder in which the judge is afforded the authority to overule the ban.
