The New South Wales health department has been accused of discriminating against the families of HIV and Hepatitis C sufferers. It’s the only Australian state where forensic pathologists don’t have to seal the bodies of people with these diseases after an autopsy. NSW Health says this policy protects dissectors from infection. But legal experts argue it discriminates against families who want the corpse returned in one piece.
