Should someone face murder charges if they kill an unborn child by physically injuring its mother? The NSW government is reviewing the law relating to fetuses, after an unborn baby was killed when its heavily pregnant mother was hit by a motorist on Christmas Day. The incident has again put the spotlight on right to life issues, including the criminalisation of abortion in Queensland and other states. The Women’s Abortion Action Campaign has organised a pro-choice rally on 29 May in Sydney. Campaign member Margaret Kirkby spoke to The Wire live in the studio about abortion laws and Saturday’s rally.
