A court in the small NSW town of Mudgee was the first to hear a case under the state’s anti-mining protest laws.
The defendants claimed they felt they had no option but the protest Peabody Energy’s Wilpinjong mine as all efforts to raise awareness of what was happening to their town of Wollar had fallen on deaf ears.
