No mental health treatment for three quarters of young people

The release of Australia’s 2nd annual National Report Card on Mental Health and Suicide prevention reveals a grade that has much room for improvement. With only 25 per cent of young people with mental health problems receiving treatment of any kind, questions about Australia’s cultural attitudes towards mental health and suicide are raised by the National Mental Health Commission. After last year’s report card evoked less government action than desired, the commission hopes that Australia will see real change this time around.
