An incident in which asylum seeker detainees escaped a Manus Island detention centre has resulted in arrests and medical treatment for those involved. As a result, the detainees are due to face judgement in overseas jurisdictions. Who should be held accountable for the legal welfare of asylum seekers stopped while en route to Australia?
