Many regions in Australia are facing drought related problems. Rural communities in particular are finding it tough and are being stretched to the end. In the Riverland region of South Australia, Barmera’s Lake Bonney is being threatened by fish die-off if the government does not act soon. This means the already struggling community will be left to pick up the pieces. A similar problem has occured recently to Lake Boga, near Swan Hill in Victoria, where there is now no lake at all.
