No frack Coal Seam Gas? Its true!
Yes, actually CSG doesn’t need to be ‘fracked’ in many areas of Australia, and one of those is The Pilliga Scrub near Narrabri in NSW.
Having vertical seams that are already cracked, the gas flows freely, so that fracking is so far unnecessary. With many other horror stories in the US from many years back and some bad wells in Queensland, many people don’t want to bother with gas. But unlike other states, NSW gets practically all of its gas from other states, and maybe they don’t want to share it anymore.
With the Pilliga geology being very stable, on poor agricultural land, and with no danger to the Great Artesian Basin due to the pressure and drilling method, maybe this IS the best way to service NSW manufacturing and homes on the extensive Natural gas network.
