NGOs call for CHOGM to be more focused on women’s rights

Leaders of Commonwealth countries descended on Perth today ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, or CHOGM as it is being called, later this week. On the table for discussion will be food security, democracy and human rights. But NGOs say the biennale meeting risks being irrelevant and meaningless unless it develops a stronger focus on demographic groups, like women in the Commonwealth.
