Thousands of people protested on Sunday to put climate change on the agenda as Australia heads to an election. Break Free activists called on the Government to take action against climate change and to keep coal, gas and oil in the ground. They blocked the Newcastle port with hundreds of kayaks and occupied the coal rail line. This was one of the first protests of a wave of global action planned by climate action group 350.org. People from all walks of life came together in an act of peaceful, civil disobedience.
