Scientists from the Menzies School of Health Research are hoping they can reduce rates of a chronic ear disease called Otis Media, which affects almost all babies and young children in remote indigenous communities.

Amanda Leach, a researcher from The Menzies School of Health Research, spoke to the Wire’s about what better vaccines could mean in communities where chronic ear disease causes deafness in ninety percent of children.
