Debuting this Wednesday on Channel Seven, “Gangs of Oz” has been heralded as a documentary series delivering the truth on the underbelly of Australian crime. The pilot, entitled, “Middle Eastern Gangs” has already been publicly slammed for gross generalisations made about the Arabic community even before its airing. So will such media representations lead to another outbreak of racial-fuelled violence, such as the Cronulla riots and how should they be accountable?
