New research body to tackle Dementia – second biggest killer in Australia

Nearly half a million Australians are living with dementia. It’s the second leading cause of death in the country. But people in Indigenous communities are three to five times more likely to be affected. The Federal government is creating a new National Institute for Dementia Research to help bring the numbers down. Alzheimer’s Australia will play a key role in driving this research.
