Yesterday the Immigration Minister, Chris Evans, announced that the Government will increase it’s skilled migrant intake to 108, 500 to solve Australia’s labour shortage. The old policy, which created the controversial Visa 457 was criticized by unions for undercutting the wages of domestic workers, and providing no employment protection for migrant workers.
