A new electric vehicle plan has been announced last week, with the government promising to require companies to produce and sell a “good proportion” of electric and low emission vehicles.

Its unclear if the government will put forward policies aimed at incentivising electric car purchase and usage as details of the program have not been announced by the government but other commentators believe that a more market based system would work better.
