New conditions placed on Australia adopting ‘dormant’ ETS

Despite the government’s best efforts, the Senate still hasn’t scrapped the carbon tax. And if Clive Palmer gets his way, Australia’s dormant emissions trading scheme won’t be activated until new conditions are met. He is now saying that countries like India will need to have nation-wide emissions schemes before Australia follows suit. Critics say this is a lot to ask, and the conditions make it difficult for Australia to take serious action.
