Is this the next step towards an Indigenous Voice to Parliament?

A new Joint-Select Committee has been agreed upon by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull & Opposition Leader Bill Shorten which will seek to find common ground on Indigenous Constitutional Recognition.

Labor Senator Pat Dodson & Liberal counterpart Julian Leeser will co-chair the committee which will seek to break down partisan lines and find a consensus on a Referendum proposal on the issue.

This is not the first committee to investigate this issue and many First Nations peoples are yet to be convinced that it will achieve change.
