While it may be the final week of the parliamentary year, this hasn’t stopped the Labor and Liberal parties from coming to blows over the National Broadband Network. The legislation is currently stalled in the Senate where it may well be voted down if just one of the two independents chooses to vote against it. In particular, media attention has focused on Nick Xenophon who has been calling for the release of the NBN business plan. The government has refused Senator Xenophon’s request but today conceded to a parliamentary inquiry.
