Boats filled with asylum seekers continue to make their way to Australia on a regular basis. That’s in spite of plans by the government to re-open the once very controversial detention centre on Nauru, which was once thought to be a deterrent for boat arrivals. The Wire spoke with a man who spent nearly three years on Nauru back before it was shut down.
