Today marks the 25th anniversary of National Tree Day.

Planet Ark an environmental organisation, is encouraging Australians to connect with nature to help their mental health.

Since 1996, over five million volunteers have planted more than 27 million native trees.

The day promotes environmental responsibility and the psychological benefits of nature.

Jennifer McMillan, Planet Ark’s Communications Manager, spoke to The Wire’s Vanessa Gatica about the benefits of the day.
