National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology and it kicked off this week with over 1000 events being held nationwide. In the small city of Adelaide alone over 20,000 people attended a 3-day science exhibition at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds, and similar events are held all over Australia. National Science Week aims to highlight the importance of science in everyday life in Australia and across the globe.

In the spirit of National Science Week, Elisabetta Barberio, who is currently touring for The Women in Physics lecture series, sat down with The Wire to discuss her involvement in the Higgs Boson discovery.
