The key message from organisers of National Harmony Day held around the country today is that ‘Everybody Belongs’. However some non-caucasian Australians are still made to feel different.

Sumati Chakravarti-Cook discusses the issues she faces as an Indian born resident of Australia, something Kate Leaney from ‘Welcome to Australia’ can understand. Harmony Day recognises these ongoing issues, and tries to spread a message of tolerance, understanding and cultural embrace.
