This week the Australian Electoral Commission has embarked on a major awareness raising campaign, with its inaugural Enroll To Vote Week. And the move has been applauded by The Federal Labor Opposition. It coincides with recent changes to the Electoral Act, that have significantly closed the window of time between when an election is called and the closing off the electoral roll to any changes, such as new voters or changes of address. Shadow Youth Affairs Minister, Tanya Plibersek and Phil Diak with the AEC spoke earlier about recent changes to the electoral act.
