Submissions for the Murray Darling Basin Plan close tomorrow and tensions are rising in communities along the river as people have their last say on the issue before the decision is made. Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young will take part in a debate on the issue tonight, with Federal water Minister Tony Burke and Liberal Senator Simon Birmingham.

She says the current plan is doomed to failure unless it revises upwards the amount of water to be returned and also supports many more creative solutions to water saving along the river.
