Last week, At age 92, media mogul Rupert Murdoch announced his departure as chairman of Fox Corporation and News Corp.  However, it’s reported Murdoch will stay on as chairman emeritus, to guide his eldest son, Lachlan, as new head of the firm.

Murdoch’s media empire  continues to have, a profound impact on the journalism industry. So what are the impacts and legacies of Murdoch’s leadership within the media industry:  where to from here for the companies? And what challenges lie ahead for Murdoch’s successor?
