Oral health is a major concern for Indigenous people and much higher numbers of aboriginal people are subject to bad gums and teeth than non-indigenous people. For the first time, a conference exploring issues associated with oral health among native people around the world launched in Adelaide. Speakers at the conference discuss how poor oral health can lead to many other health concerns such as chronic illness and how motivation therapy can help.
