Today federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten announced Tanya Plibersek as Deputy Opposition Leader. The announcement was made following a Caucus meeting in which Labor politicians voted in the new frontbench. Shorten also announced 11 female frontbenchers, and said Labor is on track for the highest number of women in senior roles in any Government or Opposition ministry… ever! Is it a big deal? Many are saying yes.
