In America you can get a Barbie Doll called Ms President Barbie – a no-nonsense, business suit clad doll designed to give little girls the idea that they, too, could be President. The doll was the brainchild of an organisation called The Whitehouse Project – a non-profit lobby group that works to get more women into politics. Whitehouse Project founder Marie Wilson has been in Australia giving pep talks to schoolgirls around the country, encouraging them to consider a political career, in spite of the current hurdles that women face.
