The Australian Bureau of Statistics track a 10% rise in births to teenage mothers across Australia. New South Wales recorded the highest increase with a fifteen percent jump – which is just over three-thousand teen mums. Health professionals are worried about these rising figures and are blaming a lack of education. Family Planning NSW found most Australian teens prefer to learn about sex by speaking with their friends – not their parents or teachers.
