As our new Prime Minister Julia Gillard said, it is “Australians birth right to vote,” but with many voters indicating they will not vote for Labour on new’s sites, will she have enough votes to win the next election? Perhaps she can find the 1.4 million Australians missing from the electoral roll. The Australian Electoral Commission says that 70 per cent of these missing voters are aged between 18 and 39. To try and solve this problem ahead of this year’s federal election, the Commission has enlisted a number of famous Australians to encourage young people to enroll and vote. But will this campaign actually make a difference?
