Minister releases new guidelines for victims of human trafficking

Guidelines on how non government organizations (NGOs) should deal with victims of human trafficking were released today by the Minister for Home Affairs, Bob Debus. Jennifer Burn, Director of the NGO Anti Slavery Project at the University of Technology in Sydney, says that Australians are generally unaware of human trafficking in their own country. She says that NGOs are often the first contact victims have with any kind of support network.
