Swiss mining company Xstrata has the okay from the Northern Territory government to divert several kilometres of the MacArthur river near remote Borroloola so they can mine the river bed. Traditional owners are unhappy and are lodging legal action against the government. Charles Roche from the Environment Centre of the Northern Territory has just returned from Boroloola where he has been helping prepare the case.
