The mining boom has appeared to have brought lots of money and employment opportunities to Western Australia. But in the Pilbara in the Kimberley Region, a study from Curtin University has shown that the mining giants may not have had that much of an effect on Indigenous employment. Smaller Indigenous companies which work with the mining companies have found that they are being overlooked for contracts within the mining industry.
