Delhi is merely part of a long line of major games to be clouded by doubts says Rick Mitchell, a silver medallist on the track at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. His career spanned two further Olympiads and three Commonwealth Games, a longevity that owed much to a balanced outlook as well as physical preparation. But, Rick recalls, the pressures on the Australian athletes three decades ago didn’t just come from within. Richard Evans spoke to the former 400m metre medal winner.
