This weekend, the United States and the Australian Armies are having war practices on Townshend Island, in Far North Queensland. The exercise is done every two years, potencially damaging the Great Barrier Reef. Many environmental activists will protest in Brisbane to these practices in order to save the largest coral reef in the world.

The aim of the protests is to create awareness of the issue and tell the Federal government to fully protect the Reef, and return the land to its traditional owners.
